iGaming, sports betting operators report $268.5M in February revenue in Michigan

(Detroit).- Michigan commercial and tribal operators reported a combined $268.5 million total internet gaming (iGaming) gross receipts and gross sports betting receipts in February. Gross receipts decreased 18.9% compared to January.

Monthly Gross Receipts
February iGaming gross receipts totaled $222.5 million and gross sports betting receipts totaled $46.0 million, which is a decrease from the $83.0 million recorded in January.

Monthly Adjusted Gross Receipts
Combined total iGaming and internet sports betting adjusted gross receipts (AGR) for February were $236.3 million, including $209.1 million from iGaming and $27.2 million from internet sports betting — representing an iGaming decrease of 10.3% and a sports betting decrease of 50.2% when compared to January. Compared to February 2024 reported revenues, iGaming AGR was up by 23.6% and sports betting AGR increased by $14.3 million.

Monthly Handle
Total internet sports betting handle at $379.8 million was down by 31.6% from the $555.2 million handle recorded in January.

Monthly State Taxes/Payments
The operators reported submitting $43.8 million in taxes and payments to the State of Michigan during February, of which:

  • iGaming taxes and fees = $42.3 million
  • Internet sports betting taxes and fees = $1.5 million

Monthly City of Detroit Taxes/Payments
The three Detroit casinos reported paying the City of Detroit $12.1 million in wagering taxes and municipal services fees during February, of which:

  • iGaming taxes and fees = $11.5 million
  • Internet sports betting taxes and fees = $640,249

Monthly Tribal Operators’ Payments
Tribal operators reported making $4.7 million in payments to governing bodies in February.

As of February 2025, a total of 15 commercial and tribal operators have been authorized to launch iGaming and/or internet sports betting. Currently, 12 commercial and tribal operators offer internet sports betting, and 15 operators offer iGaming.
